¡Continuamos!

Witness the creation of a future Cuban Classic in a clandestine workshop somewhere in central Cuba: the front fenders of a Hillman Minx are being mated to the bodyshell of an Hyundai Accent. Hammer, pliers, a grinder and a welding device are the only tools available to accomplish the operation. Hats off to cuban mechanics and their boundless creativity.

With this image, fresh from our recent trip to Cuba, we'd like to wish all our readers a Happy New Year. If you want, drop a line, and let us know from where you follow this blog...

I really enjoy your cubanClassics Blog! I try to acess your blog about 3 times a month. I find it facinating! Having been born in 1955, I still remember many of these cars on U.S. roads. I can still see some of these 50s cars, here in California, but they're usually in driveways, backyards or car shows, only rarely do you see one driving down the street!

Quite frankly speaking, I never was a fan of big equipment, as I believe that a good eye is worth more than a big tool. Most of the photos in this blog were made with a quite worn-out snapshot camera (Sony DSC-T10 to be exact), which fits in any pocket and is ready in those right moments. Add some Photoshop to re-size the images and thats what you see here... Recently, I use a bigger cam, but the T10 stayed with our man in Cuba, and continues looking for rare Cubanclassics to shoot.
